Alison Sommers entered the room. It was sparse. A single wooden chair sat near the entrance. A man and a woman were seated behind a small rectangular table at the far end of the room. Sunlight spilled in through the oversized French windows, casting the shadows of two black crosses onto the concrete floor.

“Please take a seat,” said the woman.
